Forget Me Not by L.T. Smith

Already emotionally drained by coping with her mother’s Alzheimer’s, Cathy Turner feels as if the death of her older brother is the last straw. She walls off her emotions, and mechanically copes with the demands on her time, day by day. Until forces beyond her control and beyond her understanding, break through her self-imposed isolation. Is she losing her mind, or is a power beyond this world gently nudging her in a direction that promises hope and renewal?

I’m a huge fan of the author and have been for many years as she writes good quality lesbian fiction. I really enjoyed Forget Me Not, a short story. This is different than her other books, more emotional. The focus is not romance but growing old, relationships, love and grief and living with some who has Alzheimer’s. I could relate to a lot of Cathy’s experiences. My gran now deceased had Alzheimer’s and lived briefly with the family so a lot of what Cathy feels resonated with me. This is a powerful peace of writing. I’d recommend Forget Me Not.
